Southern Cinema Moves Into New Digs in Florida.

Southern Cinema has secured a new business location to serve our customers in Florida. We are moving into the bottom floor of the Punch Jones design center, a short walk over the Bridge of Lions from Downtown St. Augustine. Heidi "Punch" Jones is a well known and prolific designer in the Southeast. Heidi herself is a music lover and served as a Rock and Roll photographer for many years before settling into her current role. Her knack for style and furnishings will be a perfect marriage of technology and lifestyle for Southern Cinema. The new location will feature Control4 home automation, HIFI music systems and a unique loft style home theater among many other cool goodies. The building itself overlooks the intercoastal and is one of the most visually unique structures on A1A. We hope to complete our buildout by Mid May, until then we will be serving our clients from our current location as normal. Southern Cinema begins doing it's part to save the planet.

We at Southern Cinema are increasing our efforts to recycle all materials to include waste from employee consumption (soda cans etc), plastics, and scrap metals from projects. We are also allowing employees to bring their own recycling to the shop if they have no pickup service. It is amazing how much recylable material we generated in the first week just from the employee Kitchen. Although Georgia makes it a little more difficult to recycle than other states, we encourage you to start your own recycling initiative at work or home. We think you will find it very satisfying and rewarding.

Recession separates the wheat from the chaff - Southern Cinema still baking bread.

Who would have thought this time last year that 66% of Atlanta's Big Box A/V stores and 50% of Atlanta's independents would fail?. Well actually we did. Southern Cinema saw the "writing on the wall" back in 2006 and made great strides to financially shore up its operations including debt reduction, fiscal streamlining and building its cash reserves. We also never really dabbled with production home builders, choosing instead to specialize in the needs of the end consumer. With that said our customer base has remained solid and we were very insulated from the fallout relating to the building industry. Although we feel that our business is still strong, we understand that some folks may be a little "tighter" than normal and are willing to help out in any way we can, including more flexible payment terms and extending special pricing for folks within our local community. Also, now more than ever we are always looking for "power buys" that allow us to offer unusually low prices on great gear. Give Justin or Michael a call and ask about our current specials.
